The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) will be in Lyon, France this week (26-30 January) for the world-renowned hospitality and food service event, Sirha. The bi-annual trade show showcases the crème de la crème of the industry over five days with over 3,000 international exhibitors.
The Scottish Salmon Company was invited to return to Sirha as a premium partner for the third time, and will again sponsor the exhibition’s ‘Golden Fish’ competition, with a focus on its new Label Rouge Tartan Salmon vacuum packed fillets.
Arranged by Gaston Moreau, president of Lyon-Poissonnier-Ecailler society and presided over by Etienne Chavirer, Best Craftsman of France (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) 2007, the competition takes place on Wednesday 30 January. Knowledge and creative flair will be required as eight master fishmongers compete for the title by preparing and presenting their very best seafood creations using Label Rouge Tartan Salmon from The Scottish Salmon Company and answering questions about their craft. The panel of judges is made up of seafood professionals, who will be looking for the presentations to demonstrate absolute precision and perfection.
Craig Anderson, chief executive of The Scottish Salmon Company, said: “There really is no better place to promote the traditional skilled craft, hard work, creativity and dedication of French fishmongers than at Sirha. The ‘Golden Fish’ recognises the best of the best of these professionals who are integral to the industry, and we are proud to be sponsoring the competition for a third time and showcasing our Label Rouge Tartan Salmon.”
Gaston Moreau, president of Lyon-Poissonnier-Ecailler society, added “Sirha is a celebration of the best products and innovations that the international food service and hospitality industries have to offer. Lyon Poissonnier Ecailler is pleased to have The Scottish Salmon Company as a partner, their proud Scottish heritage and quality produce makes it the perfect fit for our exhibition.”
