The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) has been shortlisted in four categories at the renowned Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards (HIFAD).
SSC achievements in Business Growth, Sustainability, Export and Marketing have been acknowledged by the prestigious awards. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony at Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness on 15 November.
Now in their 15th year, HIFAD celebrate passion, quality and innovation across the region. It highlights the finest businesses that are helping put the Highlands and Islands on the food and drink map. HIFAD is delivered with support from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
The shortlisting recognises the Company’s progress in four areas: responsible business growth, commitment to sustainability across all areas of the business, successful export strategy driven by Scottish Provenance Guaranteed, and the launch of Lochlander to North America.
Craig Anderson, Chief Executive at The Scottish Salmon Company, said: “We are very proud of our Highlands and Islands heritage. To be shortlisted in four categories is a real recognition of our commitment to building a sustainable business that supports the regional economy while providing long-term employment.”
Elaine Jamieson, Head of Food and Drink at HIE said: “This year, for the first time, we have an award recognising the contribution of primary agriculture producers. This new, and hotly contested category, means that the awards show appreciation for the whole supply chain right through from field to fork.
“These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate our food and drink products, food service and the fantastic people who work in one of our region’s most important sectors. I wish every one of the entries the best of luck and look forward to seeing many businesses at the awards ceremony on 15 November.”
Tickets are available to buy from the HIFAD website. Full details of the shortlisted businesses, categories, sponsors can be found at www.hifoodanddrinkawards.com.
