Craig Anderson, Chief Executive of The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC), was named Edinburgh, Lothians and the Borders Regional Director of the Year at the Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland Director of the Year Awards held last week in Glasgow.
The IoD Scotland Awards represent the diversity and talent of business leaders across the country and recognises exceptional leadership and good governance. Mr Anderson was one of just 37 business leaders to make the shortlist out of 150 nominations and judges chose Craig as the candidate “they would prefer to invest with, work for and have as a neighbour”.
SSC is the leading producer of premium Scottish salmon with operations only in Scotland, with over 500 employees across its head office in Edinburgh and 60 sites along the West Coast of Scotland and Hebrides.
Craig Anderson said: “I am honoured to have received this prestigious award which is testament to the pride, passion and dedication of everyone in the team. We are now leading Scottish based producer of the finest sea loch fresh Scottish Salmon, exporting to 26 countries around the world.”
David Watt, Executive Director of IoD Scotland, commented: “Once again, these awards have provided a platform for us to learn about exceptional business success across the board. Whether this has been achieved by leading the globalisation of a business, increasing turnover and pushing for growth, manufacturing and exporting, excelling in customer service or creating opportunities and having a positive impact on communities, this year’s directors show that Scotland is able to make a difference locally, and compete on a global stage too. Congratulations to all our winners.”
