The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC), Scotland's leading producer of the finest sea loch fresh Scottish salmon, is set to make waves in the North American seafood market introducing a new premium export brand at this year's Seafood Expo North America (SENA) in Boston from 11-13 March.
Lochlander Salmon has been developed exclusively by SSC for the export market. Lochlander Salmon is tailored for restaurateurs, up-market hotels and top class chefs based on extensive research, including focus groups and interviews with leading chefs. It is initially being introduced to the North American market where demand for quality, traceability and Scottish provenance continues to grow.
The launch comes after recent statistics show 2017 as a record year for salmon exports which grew by 35% last year to £600 million. The USA remains the largest market with sales worth £193m, followed by France (£188m) and China (£69m).
Since 2011, SSC’s exports have more than doubled and currently accounts for over half of sales. With a clear focus on developing a platform for sustainable business growth, driving exports is a core priority for the Company who has developed a strategy underpinned by Scottish Provenance.
Craig Anderson, Chief Executive of The Scottish Salmon Company, said: “We are delighted to unveil our new premium export brand to the North American market at SENA Boston. We are passionate about our Scottish provenance and bringing the finest quality Scottish salmon to worldwide markets.
“We can’t put a clock on nature, which is why we allow our naturally raised premium Lochlander Salmon approximately three years to grow lean and strong, nurtured by our dedicated Scottish Salmon Masters.
“We are extremely proud of Lochlander Salmon, which offers our export customers a premium quality Scottish salmon they can be proud of, with true Scottish Provenance Guaranteed.”
