The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) will showcase its finest quality Scottish Salmon to a global audience of more than 25,000 leading seafood and associated industry representatives at Seafood Global Expo next week [7-9 May].
At the Expo, SSC will introduce its Tartan Salmon Label Rouge Royal Mile Cut, shortlisted in the prestigious ‘Retail Product of the Year’ category in this year’s Seafood Excellence Global Awards. The winners will be announced at a gala reception during the Expo.
The Royal Mile Cut is hand sliced from the centre of the fillet and is the most revered part of the salmon. SSC has held Label Rouge accreditation - used by the French Government to endorse food or farmed products which have been recognised for their superior quality and taste - since 2014.
SSC will also be showcasing its Native Hebridean Salmon, a unique strain descended from stock sourced from the freshwater loch systems of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. SSC’s recent acquisition of the Harris & Lewis Smokehouse means it will deliver smoked Native Hebridean Salmon direct to the consumer for the first time.
The Brussels expo comes off the back of SSC announcing strong year-on-year growth of 23%, which was driven by increased harvest volume on the previous year. SSC has global reach with its products exported to 26 countries, with demand for high quality, traceability and Scottish provenance continuing to grow. Exports represented 65% of SSC’s sales in Q1, and the company is focused on continuing to drive growth through its commitment to Scottish Provenance Guaranteed.
Craig Anderson, Chief Executive of The Scottish Salmon Company, said: “We look forward to welcoming all delegates to sample our finest quality Scottish Salmon at Seafood Global Expo.
“Scottish Provenance is known, respected and coveted around the globe and underpins everything we do at The Scottish Salmon Company. We take great pride in our Scottish heritage, this is demonstrated through our commitment to bringing the finest quality Scottish Salmon to worldwide markets.”
Delegates will be able to sample Scottish Salmon sushi, created by SSC’s resident chef who is back by popular demand, doing artistic sushi creations showcasing SSC’s finest Scottish Salmon at stand #9-4227/A on the Scottish Pavilion.
