Due to significant investment within the company we are looking to recruit two Environmental Officers to assist the Site Development department to deliver the development programme, through identifying site development opportunities, coordinating the application process and securing all consents required for sustainable site operations.


  • Undertake environmental impact assessments where required and planning tasks required to deliver projects in line with the development programme, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
  • Managing environmental application processes and obtaining relevant regulatory permissions for operations
  • Interpreting environmental data to guide appropriate site development
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, communities and interest groups
  • Working with external contractors as required to ensure regulatory requirements are met



  • Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or similar – marine specialism preferred
  • Experience of contributing to and/or coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to self-motivate and work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Excellent IT skills, with experience of preparing high-quality reports
  • Full, clean driving licence


  • Knowledge of the environmental interactions of fish farming and of relevant regulatory regimes in the Scottish salmon production industry
  • Experience of project management, including working with external contractors
  • Experience of using GIS
  • Experience of dataset management and computer modelling packages preferred, but not essential
