Hygiene Operative (Nightshift) - Marybank

Nightshift Hygiene Operative

Location: Marybank, Stornoway

Salary: £18,200 rising to £19,110 following probation, plus overtime & unsociable hours payments (£17.33 per shift) available

Hours: Nightshift Mon-Fri, guaranteed 35 core hours per week exclusive of unpaid breaks

May be required to work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the business

Due to significant investment in the company, we are now looking to recruit a nightshift Hygiene Operative to carry out deep cleaning of machinery, containers, equipment and premises to the highest standards, compliant with all food hygiene and health & safety legislations. 

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Carry out all hygiene tasks in accordance with hygiene rota and written approved procedures, ensuring all required paperwork is completed to company standard.
  • Prepare and be responsible for any cleaning equipment used to carry out hygiene duties.
  • Be fully conversant with the operation and care of any mechanical equipment maintaining, hygiene and re-installing ready for next day production.
  • Adhere to biosecurity requirements.
  • Responsible for safe preparation, handling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants used.
  • Ensure adherence to risk assessments and safe systems of work, reporting any incidents or concerns to your manager.
  • Undertake further harvesting operative duties as requested by your managers.

Your Skills & Experience: 

  • Good standards and knowledge of cleaning methods.
  • Have good knowledge of H&S and COSHH.
  • Ability to work methodically and to meticulous standards.
  • Ability to complete physical tasks and manoeuvre around machinery in a safe manner.
  • Relevant certificates e.g. hygiene, chemical awareness and chemical handling.
  • Previous hygiene experience.
  • Must have access to own car and have a full, clean driving licence.
