Processing Operative

Location: Harris & Lewis Smokehouse

Salary: £8.99 per hour

We are recruiting for Processing Operatives to join our team at the new Harris & Lewis Smokehouse.

 

Supporting day to day operations of the Smokehouse as part of a small team, Processing Operatives will work flexibly across a range of functions, including:

 

· Curing: Quality assurance, salting, washing and loading trays and cages

· Smoking: Loading, operating and unloading kilns

· Scales: weighing, programming, packing and labelling products

· Production support: loading/unloading, goods in and despatch

· Packing: Unloading trays and cages, operating knives and slicers, building boards, vacuum-packing and labelling

· Hygiene: Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in the Smokehouse facility

 

Candidates will be able to demonstrate:

 

· Experience of working within a fresh food processing environment and/or smokehouse.

· Experience of working well within a small team

· Good timekeeping and attendance record

· Ideally (though not essential) relevant qualifications such as Food Safety/ HACCP, Industrial Forklift Certificate
